To mark the release of Captain America: The First Avenger on DVD/Blu-Ray today, here are some previews of behind the scenes featurettes that focus on the way they were able to manage working in multiple costumes that referenced Cap's classic comic look, as well the more practical versions. It's the design details like this, that pay homage to the characters history, that really make me love this movie.
The new modern Captain America costume was first revealed on display at SDCC in July and has featured prominently in the Avengers trailer and promo stills. So I was pretty psyched to see that Captain Steve Rogers' S.H.E.I.L.D locker was also on display at New York Comic-Con. And here's what I thought was the coolest - the costume was not the pristine costume seen at San Diego. Instead - it was very appropriately the dirty battle damaged version that was featured in all the New York Battle raw set footage we've seen.
