The Dark Crystal Clothing Collection - Couture Fantasy Fashion from 1982

I shared a video about this amazing way-ahead-of-its-time concept collection previously. And now here are some fantastic fashion sketches and photos, including coverage in Vogue via Jim Henson's Red Book.

Brief concept detail from the press kit, with more info here.
Jim’s motivations were two-fold: “A desire to see the beauty of the film transposed into another creative medium; and, to acknowledge the strong influence that film has always had on fashion.” He commissioned the London-based design team working in his Creature Shop to create a “dramatic haute-couture collection” that reflected the “style, richness and jewel toned color” of the film. Forty pieces, priced between $500 and $1,800, were created in limited editions and offered exclusively through Liberty’s in London, Henri Bendel in New York, I. Magnin in San Francisco, and Sakowitz in Houston.

Star Wars Inspired Everyday Outfits from the Female Fan Force Blog

SWFFF blogger Jess uses Polyvore to assemble wearable ensembles inspired by Star Wars.
She's done two so far - Dagobah Luke and Ahsoka Season 3. Since it's really about the style and the concept she doesn't worry about price points - but the items are available through the Polyvore links.

I think these are fantastic, stylish, and even right on trend.
And the creative accessory choices...they just plain rock.
Look, Cosplay is great fun....but you can't wear it every day!
