I posted a preview clip of this previously - but it's awesome to see DC Nation has made the full versions available. This short series is so incredibly cool - with a groovy fashion illustration style, and nods to Russ Meyer Biker
Bad Girls, and 70's Car Chases. What's bothersome it that DC/WB is somehow unable to apply even a fraction
of the creativity shown here to creating a Wonder Woman live action TV series or film.
A few quick shots from NYCC this past weekend - with more Cosplay and Collectible photos to come!
It was another awesome show, with an even bigger crowd than last year - and last year featured an Avengers pre-release panel with half the cast! So, it's pretty clear that after this years Summer of Superhero Movies pretty much everyone is into comics now and thay all decided to go to the Con.
My fave area - The Artist Alley - really rocked this year. A better floor plan meant that not only was the
Ally filled with talented artists (including many creators whose art I've shared here on F&A), but it was
also constantly busy with tons of fans discovering how affordable it is to get a signed print or small
original piece from their favorite artist. There was also an array of cool and fringe stuff to be found in
the main hall from a wide variety of indie publishers, media creators, and toy/merch designers.
The "Big 2" really showcased their comic talent teams, as well as their respective upcoming video games, instead their next big films. Yet, I was still kind of surprised there weren't at least the costumes on display
for Man of Steel or Iron Man 3.Marvel of course more than made up for the lack of any IM 3 presence by announcing Agent Coulson Lives Again - and Clark Gregg will be reprising his belovedrole in the upcoming S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series. Look for more NYCC related stuff here and on the Facebook page all week.

Timothy Lim is an F&A favorite and you probably already know his awesome mash-up art - especially if you're a fan of Daily T-Shirt sites. But I also love the more impressionistic sketches like this Iron Man and Hulk found by digging deeper into the Ninjaink Deviant Art Gallery.
Wookiee Life Day is the ersatz Thanksgiving/Christmas Celebration featured in the notorious Star Wars Holiday Special that aired once on November 17th,1978. The special was totally bizarre in a Sid & Marty Krofft meets Star Wars kind of way - complete with musical numbers, Chewie's full Wookiee family, and guest stars Bee Arthur & Art Carney, as well as the original cast - it never aired again. But the damage was done - millions of fans desperate for anything Star Wars had seen it and this epic oddity was forever burned into our memories. So on this day many celebrate peace and family...but mostly it's an excuse to post pictures of Chewbacca and all things Wookiee, as well as wince at Princess Leia's singing.
So... here are some lovely paintings given to characters participating in Life Day Festivities in the
Star Wars Galaxies MMORG (which is sadly closing down in December).
....and here are couple of cool Chewbacca portraits
...and Chewie gets help picking out the right blow dryer in a new Currys PCWorld (UK) Holiday Ad.
...and here's an alternative way to celebrate Life Day.
Urban Legend tells us that George Lucas tried to obtain and destroy all copies of "The Special". But it managed to survive in poor quality bootleg form, becoming a Sci-Fi Convention staple, until it eventually found it's forever home - the internet.
Where we can join Princess Leia in singing the Life Day Song!

Supernatural executive producer Sera Gamble gives a preview of a couple of key moments in the 2 hour season finale airing May 20th. One of which reveals Sam and Dean are pretty clueless about H.P. Lovecraft and the Mythos.
