Just a few photos and runway clips of three collections I've been meaning to share for awhile. Gorgeous designs of course but I also think they each have their own unique hints of that Dark Fairytale Trend I've been highlighting in fashion, media, and advertising.

Prabal Gurung - Stated inspiration was Great Expectations. 

But I can't help but think Little Red Riding Hood - Goth Princess.

Chanel Ready To Wear - The staging is outstanding, the burnt forest volcanic setting, like a Dragons lair. 

And then there are the darkly romantic capes.

 Jean-Charles De Castelbajac - the most surreal & quirky of lot - Salvador Dali meets101 Dalmatians.

So maybe more like Dark Disney Tales. 

The skull embossed felt hats are that perfect kind of take a second look cool.

Steampunk & Superheroes - Victoria's Secret Goes Geek

The Latest Victoria's Secret Fashion Show featured lingerie takes on two Geek Culture staples.

Comic Book Superheroes...

With a decidedly Cosmic 60's influence.

...and Steampunk.

More the Neo-Victorian Romance aspect - not the Gears and Gizmos tech.

Lagerfeld's reasonably priced designer capsule collection is now avilable @ Macy's Impulse store.
Prices range from $49 to $169 with most of the collection falling in the $69 to $99 range.
Collection is a solid mix of classics with an slight edge...
...but what I really want are the cool studded driving gloves Karl wears in these promo videos.
