Trying so very very hard to be a live action version of successful animated re-imagined fairytale
updates like Shrek, Tangled, etc.- with colorful action for the kids and humor aimed at adults - but
falls so very short in the attempt. TV's Once Upon a Time has already done the Snow White as Robin Hood thing, the humor feels too broad and uninspired, and Julia Roberts as an Evil Queen freaked out
over her crow's feet is just kind of sad. Disappointing that the bold fanciful costumes and visuals
don't translate into the movie's actual story content or approach.
