Red 5 - Star Wars Rebel Pilot Girl Pin-Up by Ninjaink

One of my favorite artists - Timothy Lim (aka Ninjaink) recently offered to update my "Rebel Pilot Dolly" profile pic with real art! He got totally carried away and ended up creating this fantastic Star Wars Nose Art-style Pin-Up - so now we all win! I've shared his movie & comic fan art and mash-ups here previously - and I'll be sharing more soon as part of the Avengers Daily posts. Meanwhile be sure to follow Ninjaink on Facebook or stalk his Deviant Art page for more fresh art. And definitely visit his RedBubble Store to buy prints & t-shirts!

The Katniss Everdeen Barbie is Actually Kinda Badass

First peek @ The Hunger Games Movie Katniss Barbie via EW.com.
She looks fantastic, great costume and hair details, and it seems from the photo the
wrist and arms are jointed, so she may actually be capable of action poses too.
And really, she's a doll with a bow - it doesn't get much cooler.

Krav Maga in Haute Couture - "Get Back, Stay Back" Video

Outstanding fashion photo editorial  for V Magazine is both stylish and smart. As High Fashion photographer Nick Knight explains in the video; he noticed women's self defense training videos are generally shot in sweats and sneaks - he then realized shooting them in heels and party dresses might actually be more useful and realistic. So it's not just a cool idea for a badass fashion spread but the moves model Lara Stone demonstrates are real and educational. Video via 80's Purple. More photos at both links.

Sherlock Holmes 2: Game of Shadows - 9 Clip Preview Reel

Nine preview clips have been released for Sherlock Homes 2.
Luckily Collider has collected them into one nice reel. The usual Spoiler warning applies
for those who prefer not see a whole chunk of the movie before it's released.

The Dark Crystal Clothing Collection - Couture Fantasy Fashion from 1982

I shared a video about this amazing way-ahead-of-its-time concept collection previously. And now here are some fantastic fashion sketches and photos, including coverage in Vogue via Jim Henson's Red Book.

Brief concept detail from the press kit, with more info here.
Jim’s motivations were two-fold: “A desire to see the beauty of the film transposed into another creative medium; and, to acknowledge the strong influence that film has always had on fashion.” He commissioned the London-based design team working in his Creature Shop to create a “dramatic haute-couture collection” that reflected the “style, richness and jewel toned color” of the film. Forty pieces, priced between $500 and $1,800, were created in limited editions and offered exclusively through Liberty’s in London, Henri Bendel in New York, I. Magnin in San Francisco, and Sakowitz in Houston.

The Three Musketeers - Now With Swash-punk? or Steam-buckling? Action!

OK, letting go of any expectation of a faithful literary adaptation and also remembering it's from the Resident Evil Guy - if this movie actually delivers on the action packed, Steampunk air-ship battling, bullet-time swordplay filled, campy ham acting epic the trailers promise...it could just end up
being a crazy-fun guilty pleasure. Here are couple of short featurette clips...

...a swordplay filled TV spot...

..and some behind the scenes B Roll footage via Trailer Addict.
Where they have 4 more B Roll clips, cast interview clips and, well...more trailers

And just track down the 70's Thee Musketeers film and it's sequel The Four Musketeers if you really want to see movies that not only stay quite true to the book but are just grand fun and highly entertaining.
